Family favourite firework show at Magic Kingdom is getting a later time slot from today.

Happily Ever After, the night-time firework spectacular at Magic Kingdom which has been wishing guests farewell in the Walt Disney way since May 12, 2017 has been rescheduled.

The 18 minute firework and light show extravaganza, which features stat-of-the-art projection technology to tell the end of day story will be starting 15 minutes later from today.

Although in England daylight savings time saw the clocks go forward by an hour at 2am this morning, in Florida the clocks went forward on March 10, meaning the days have been getting lighter for 3 weeks. It is said that days get longer by 1 minute per day following the start of daylight saving time, so Disney’s 15 minute change to the start time of Happily Ever After is to accommodate the lighter nights.

From today, those guests waiting for Happily Ever After will have to wait until 8.45pm to see the show. The park is also open a little later today due to Easter festivities and the anticipated larger crowds, which means that guests can enjoy the Magic Kingdom attractions until 11pm tonight.

As a top tip, queue times are often quieter after Happily Ever After, so it might worth considering using your time after the show to hop on a favourite ride or two.

From April 20, 2024, the show start time for Happily Ever After will be put back again by a further 15 minutes.

Happy riding, friends
