It’s official, we’re drooling. The list of Star Wars edibles coming our way in May at Hollywood Studios and Disney Springs has been announced, with returning favourites and some new delectable delights.
One delicious delight is already in the park, and will be until the 31st May, almost serving as a teaser treat for what is to come. Available now, at Dockside Diner is the Princess of Alderaan Shake. A delicious salted caramel shake topped with whipped cream and edible glitter, and two cinammon rolls served served in a way which replicates one of the most iconic looks of this Princess. It’s the perfect shake to whet the appetite for the delicious treats set to drop in 18 days – but who’s counting?
First of all let’s take a look the yummy treats returning, starting with the drinks…
Thirst quenching and non-alcoholic, Jettison Juice is landing back into the parks at the following outlets: ABC Commissary, Backlot Express, PizzeRizzo, and Rosie’s All-American Cafe. The drink, which is a combination of Minute Maid Lemonade and watermelon juice, is served with a glowing ice cube and will be available from the 4th to the 31st May. One for all the family, this tasty liquid is becoming the drink of choice for Star Wars day fans of all ages having been on the menu for the last … years.
For the adults, Cosmic Rum Punch is back, hitting the following outlets Oasis Canteen, Sunshine Day Bar, Tune-In Lounge, and The Hollywood Brown Derby Lounge. This cocktail combines Parrot Bay Coconut Rum, Bacardí Superior Rum, pineapple juice, Minute Maid Lemonade, and grenadine, and is served with a glow cube. Available from the 4th May, this cocktail will be only be docked until 31st May.
Now on to the the returning tasty food offerings:
At Rosie’s All American Cafe the Mustafarian Puff will be making a return. A red cream puff with cookies ‘n’ cream custard filling topped with chocolate cream cookie crumbs will be available until the 31st May.
Our personal favourite is back at the following food outlets: Anaheim Produce, Grand Avenue, Market on the 4th and 5th May only and at Churro Cart from the 4th until the 31st May. The Lightsaber Churro in either red or blue, served with a chocolate sauce is back. We do not advise using them for your own light saber battle before eating unless sitting down with a plate (or similar) below to catch the losing saber.
We’ve kept you in suspense long enough – here is this year’s yummy newness:
The Mossberry Biscuit: a biscuit topped with ube and matcha icing, ube micro sponge cake, sprinkles, and dehydrated blueberries will be landing on the 4th May in Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo. Available until the 31st May, this green and purple delight doesn’t look all that appealing to us. We’re blaming the green called icing which reminds us of something less than appetising. Having said that, we’re all for some dehydrated blueberries so we are eager to give it a try.
Polystarch Puffbread is the next new offering this year, which is described as croissants topped with blue and green milk craquelin served with yuzu-passion fruit-coconut dipping sauce. Sounds intriguing. Available for taste testing at the Milk Stand in Galaxy’s Edge between the 4th and 31st May.
Disney Springs
Over at Disney Springs, Star Wars fever is also heating up at Amorette’s Patisserie and The Ganachery where new sweet treats will be dropping this May too.
Amorette’s Patisserie are offering a limited edition petit cake that looks like it might be the forerunner for our best Star Wars themed treat this year. The Stormtrooper Petit Cake looks like perfection and the description of the cake sounds like perfections too: ‘layers of chocolate chiffon, vanilla bean mousse, dark chocolate ganache, and cherries’. Que more drooling.
We think the design might have been inspired by the Princess Leia quote to Luke Skywalker, from the 1977 film ‘Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope, ‘Aren’t you a little short for a storm trooper?’. We aren’t sure about the height of the cake to answer that, but we do know it is only available for a short time between May 1st and May 6th.
The Ganachery will be offering two chocolatey themed Star Wars treats between May 1st and 31st. A Death Star Ganache Square made from ruby chocolate containing 65% dark chocolate and a Rebellion Ganache Square made from white chocolate blended with dragon fruit enrobed in dark 65% chocolate.
From the cake and chocolate Star Wars themed treats at Disney Springs to the various food and drink delights available at various food outlets in Hollywood Studios this May, there is something for everyone to try. Whether you’re wielding the red churro of the dark side of The Force or the blue churro of the light side of The Force, this Star Wars Season looks like its going to be a tasty one.
