That’s right friends, you read that right. There is a new sing-along attraction coming to EPCOT for a limited time this Summer, and the best part is that your probably already know all the words.
Disney’s …. smash-hit animated movie, which won … awards and boasts a soundtrack written by Lin Manuel Miranda is coming to the new Communicore plaza stage which will open on the same day.
Encanto, which stars Mirabel as the one family member in the Madrigal family without a power to help her community, is going to be reimagined into a sing along spectacular to debut on Communicore Plaza’s stage. The limited-time sing-along will be playing from June ……… until September ……… We are so excited, we just won’t talk about Bruno.
The show will be called Celebracion Encanto and is expected to run several times a day and feature characters Mirabel and Bruno.
We don’t talk about Bruno was the first ever original soundtrack Disney song to make it to number one in the UK’s Official Chart and is an ensemble piece sang by ten of the cast, making it a perfect song for Disney to include in their sing–a-long. It was a first for both composer Lin Manuel Miranda and Disney.
Speaking to the Official Charts, Lee Jury, Senior Vice President, Studios Marketing, Music Group ampersand Stage Shows EMEA at Disney said: It’s another captivating, infectious track written by Lin Manuel Miranda and we’re so proud of the success of the movie and soundtrack. Not forgetting ‘Surface Pressure’, another hit from the soundtrack which is in at Number 5 also. Having two tracks in the Top 5 is more than we could have ever expected.
Hopefully, ‘Surface Pressure’, the song sang by Luisa Stephanie Darrow, will also feature in the sing-along version coming in June. The song, which has a unique ensemble of backing animated donkey singers and dancers, details Luisa’s life pressures as she juggles the pressure of her responsibilities of helping the community and her family while trying to be true to herself.
In the UK, ‘We Don’t Talk About Bruno’, spent a massive seven weeks at Number One from January to February. In the US, similar success was also achieved with We Don’t Talk About Bruno reaching number … on the Billboard Hot 100 and spending 5 weeks in the top spot. It became the longest-running number one song from an animated or live action Disney film to top the Billboard Hot 100.
It will hopefully be a fitting opening ‘Celebracion’ for Communicore Hall which will open on the same day, June . The opening of the Hall will mark the end of the huge reimaging of EPCOT.
Communicore Plaza will not only be home to this limited-time sing-along attraction, it will also be the new home of an indoor Mickey and Friends character meet and greet. The Hall will also be home to EPCOT’s iconic annual festivals as well as holding other celebrations throughout the year.
Not long to wait until we can say Hola! to CommuniCore Hall.
