Get in the Easter spirit this weekend by visiting the Walt Disney World Resort for an egg-cellent time. We have compiled a list of the eggs-tra Easter experiences for guests to enjoy this weekend. And the best thing is you can enjoy all of the Easter festivities in our plan using the monorail system.

Magic Kingdom

Easter Bunny Meet and Greet –

That’s right you can meet the Easter Bunny in Magic Kingdom between 24 March and 31 March 2024.

Mr and Mrs Bunny are spreading the Easter cheer at Walt Disney Resort and you can meet them in “Bunny Lane Garden” in Town Square Courtyard on Main Street, U.S.A. (You can find this area near the front entrance of the park by City Hall).

Available between the hours of 09:00am to 05:30 pm daily this meet and greet spot is beautifully decorated with Sprig pastel colours, flowers and birdhouses. Photopass photographers are available to take pictures at this meet and greet, so for guests with Photopass included in their park ticket it’s a lovely souvenir to download and keep.

Easter pre-parade

The Easter Parade happens in scheduled to happen around 11.30am on Easter Sunday and is about a 10 minute parade featuring Mr and Mrs Easter Bunny and other characters. It’s has a lovely happy springtime feel and only happens this weekend, so it is a rare parade at Magic Kingdom. Festival of Fantasy parade will follow this at around midday.

EPCOT

Egg-stravaganza Scavenger Hunt – Easter Egg Hunt

This event costs an extra $9.99 (excluding tax) on top of park admission and is available to purchase in the park from 31 March to 17 April 2024 . Guests receive a surprise gift at the end of the hunt. Find the characters eggs and place the corresponding character ticker on the map to receive your metal mickey easter egg charm.

Free Easter events

If you are at the parks, and end up feeling a bit parked-out in amongst the busy Easter crowds why not take a break and visit some of the lesser known, free Easter displays Disney has on at the following resorts until April 1.

The Grand Floridian

Why not hop on a monorail and visit The Grand Floridian to see some of the most elaborately decorated Easter eggs you might ever find. The world-famous chefs at the Grand Floridian have surpassed themselves with this year’s creations; a few of our favourites are listed below:

  • an Alice in Wonderland egg
  • a Bambi egg
  • a Beauty and the Beast egg
  • an egg dedicated to the Main Street Electrical parade
  • an Encanto egg

We don’t want to spoil the surprise as there are a total of … Easter Eggs on display, but why not take a wander around the hotel lobby and see for yourself. Each egg is between 16 and 20 inches tall and edible, although sadly no touching or eating is allowed when you visit.

It is completely free to visit the hotel and take a walk around this display.

There is also a shop called The Grand Cottage selling delicious Easter treats daily, from 9am to 9pm, to suit all budgets with an ‘Easter Marshmallow Pop’ costing $4.50 or if you are feeling a more extravagant treat is in order you can buy ‘The Easter Treat Box’ costing $80. ‘The Easter Treat Box’ contains a dark chocolate filled bunny, a marshmallow pop, a carrot cake chocolate bark, a confetti pop, a carrot blondie pop and meringue nests. The Grand Cottage will be open until 1 April 2024.

Easter at The Contemporary

Why not hop back on the monorail and head round to the Contemporary Resort where you can take in the delights of the Easter display here too. Located in the lobby area of The Contemporary, it’s free to walk around and take in the delights of the Easter egg displays.  There are … eggs on display including eggs themed after “it’s a small world” and a different Alice in Wonderland

The Beach Club Resort

Stitch and Ursula themed eggs can be found here on display this Easter. It is also free to come and take a look around and the display this year has taken inspiration from The Flower and Garden Festival at EPCOT which is taking place between February 26 and May 27 this year.

The Yacht Club

This year Easter displays as inspired by Moana and the new EPCOT attraction, Journey Into Water, inspired by Moana.

All of these Easter experiences can be done in one Easter filled day or across the whole weekend depending upon the duration of your stay. We would suggest that you start the day in Magic Kingdom so you can be sure to catch the Easter pre-parade and meet Mr and Mrs Bunny, with park wait times increasing at this time of the day, why not jump on the resort monorail and visit The Grand Floridian and Contemporary resorts? (Both are on the same resort monorail circuit). You could even grab lunch at one of the resorts. Then hop off the monorail at the Ticket and Transportation Centre and take the monorail over to EPCOT where you can enjoy an afternoon scavenger hunt. Wrap up your Disney Easter adventure taking the exit out of EPCOT in between the United Kingdom and France at the back of World Showcase to wander over to Disney’s Beach Club Resort and Disney’s Yacht Club Resort, (which are next to each other), for their Easter Egg Displays.

What ever Easter festivities you choose to experience this Easter at Walt Disney World, we hope you enjoy the magic.

Happy riding, friends! (Apologies for the Easter jokes – it just had to be done).
